One version of the Moto G, which went on sale in India exclusively via Flipkart, has sold out of stock in less than an hour. Not surprisingly, the 16GB variant, which is priced at Rs 13,999 is now no longer available to buy. Rival retailer Snapdeal had yesterday announced receiving 1,000 pre-orders for the Moto G in two hours. However, it turns out that Motorola is not providing stocks to Snapdeal and the sales will be exclusively with Flipkart. Even then, Snapdeal’s numbers indicate the kind of demand Motorola can expect for the Moto G in India. Also Read - Best smartphones for photography under Rs 20,000 to gift for Father's Day

At the moment we do not know how many units were available in stock on the first day, but judging by the chatter on Twitter, we believe that the demand for the more expensive, larger storage capacity model has been higher. At this point of time, there are no indications from Flipkart as to when the device will be back in stock again.
