Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi 4i is priced at Rs 12,999 for its 16GB variant, and is available in white and grey on all leading ecommerce websites. In comparison, the Moto G (third generation) is priced at Rs 12,999 for its 16GB variant, and will be exclusively available on Flipkart. Processor and RAM
The Xiaomi Mi 4i 16GB sports a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset paired with 2GB RAM, and a similar Adreno 405 GPU. In comparison, the Moto G (third generation) 16GB variant is powered by a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core chipset paired with 2GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 4i has an edge on the processor front but it also has a heavy MIUI layer on top. The Moto G, however, has just stock Android.
There isn’t much difference when it comes to camera, at least on paper. The Xiaomi Mi 4i and the Moto G (third generation) comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The Mi 4i comes in two variants 16GB and 32GB with no space for a microSD slot. The Moto G (third generation) comes in 8GB and 16GB variants, with additional microSD slots for further 32GB memory expansion.
The Mi 4i features a slightly large battery at 3,120mAh, when compared to the new Moto G which packs a 2,470mAh battery that the company claims lasts throughout the day.
Both the smartphones run on Android Lollipop. While, the Mi 4i runs on its own custom user interface MIUI 6, the Moto G (third generation) offers a more stock Android OS experience.
The Moto G (third gen) comes with an IPX7 rating making it waterproof. It can survive in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The Mi 4i lacks in waterproofing capabilities.
The Mi 4i offers more battery, better display quality and more internal storage, though lacks a microSD slot. However, the Moto G (third generation) with its price tag, waterproof capabilities and stock Android offering gives good competition to the Mi 4i.
