After launching its flagship Moto X in August this year, Motorola is going to launch a budget smartphone called the Moto G later tonight. For the past couple of weeks there’s been a lot of buzz around this forthcoming device and we have collated them all at one place. Here’s all we can expect from the Moto G. Last week @evleaks leaked the first press render of the Moto G and from a design perspective it looks like the smaller and curvier brother of the Moto X. It too is likely to be offered in multiple color variants, and though it is early days, Motorola could offer customization options similar to the Moto X. Yesterday, German e-commerce site Phone House mistakenly made the Moto G listing live (spotted by The Unwired), thereby revealing the specifications of the device. According to the listing, the device is said to flaunt a 4.5-inch (1280×720 pixels) display and powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
Other features include a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 8GB of internal storage, 2,070mAh battery and connectivity options like 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front it is said to run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICE
After the unveiling tonight, the device is likely to be available in the US and some select countries. Though Motorola has shut shop in India, its teaser campaign (including the above image) has hinted at a possible launch in India.
In terms of pricing, Amazon UK revealed the price tag of £160 by mistake, which comes up to Rs 16,200 approximately.
