Moto G5 users in India might have started getting the Android 8.1 Oreo OTA update. Earlier this month, there were reports of Android Oreo update being rolled out by the Lenovo-owned company to Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, although the Moto G5 Oreo update was reported for Mexico only.
Now according to XDA-Developers, some Motorola Moto G5 users in India have reported about the Android 8.1 Oreo update. The update version OPP28.85-16 also includes Android security patch for August. The device is also capable of running Android 9 Pie, but there is no word on when the update could reach the device. Earlier this month, Motorola updated the Moto G5 Plus to Android 8.1 Oreo. Users in India and Brazil reported about the update.
Meanwhile, the company has officially launched its Android One smartphone in India today. The Motorola One Power has been priced at Rs 15,999, and it will go on sale via Flipkart from October 5. It features dual-cameras, and a massive 5,000mAh battery. It has been launched in only variant featuring 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Motorola One Power flaunts a 6.2-inch FHD+ LCD display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio, and a notch at the top. Under the hood is the capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC.

For photography, the device is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back that includes a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The primary sensor features f/1.8 aperture, and PDAF support. Up front for selfies and video calling, there’s a 12-megapixel sensor. The front camera also offers Beauty mode, Portrait mode, and auto HDR.
