Lenovo-backed Motorola has been heavily rumored to launch its new smartphones the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017. While we are less than a week away from the expected official launch, we are treated to new information about the Moto G5 smartphone. To start with, alleged hands-on photos of the Moto G5 have surfaced online, and the smartphone has also been spotted on benchmarking website GeekBench. Beginning with the leaked hands-on photos of the Moto G5, spotted by PhoneArena, the smartphone is seen sporting the same look and design like the previous leaks showed. Sporting the same dark grey color, the Moto G5 has a metal body with a removable battery judging from the back panel. The front panel is seen featuring the same look with the Moto branding placed above the display and also the About Phone information is displayed on the screen. Deciphering the information, the phone s name Moto G5 can be seen, and Android 7.0 Nougat as well. The back panel follows the same design with the circular rear camera lens placed on the top centre with the Moto logo below.
Coming to the GeekBench listing, spotted by SlashLeaks, the results show the Moto G5 garnering a single-core score of 594 and a multi-core score of 2,350. In addition to the scores, more information regarding the specifications of the smartphone are also revealed. The OS revealed is Android 7.0 Nougat, which has been a constant in previous leaks as well. The processor revealed is Qualcomm s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, which is expected to be paired with 2GB of RAM according to the GeekBench listing. Moto G5 specifications
As for the rest of the specifications, the Moto G5 is expected to feature a 5-inch full HD display. The smartphone could come with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. For photography, the Moto G5 is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone could be powered by a 2,800mAh battery.
Moto G5 Plus specifications
The higher variant of the two, the Moto G5 Plus is expected to feature a bigger 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood is likely to be Qualcomm s Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The Moto G5 Plus could come in two storage variants of 16GB and 32GB. In the photography department, the smartphone could sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The Moto G5 Plus could be powered by either a 3,080mAh battery or a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging support. For connectivity, the smartphone will come with NFC support. The Moto G5 Plus will also run on Android 7.0 Nougat like the Moto G5. But the Moto G5 Plus will come with features from Motorola Experience like Moto Assist, Moto Display, and Moto Actions. The smartphone is also rumored to be IP67-certified.
Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus price
The Moto G5 is expected to be priced around $200 which comes to Rs 13,400 and the Moto G5 Plus could be placed at $250 that comes to roughly Rs 16,800. Both the smartphones are expected to go on sale soon after their expected launch on February 26.
