Lenovo-Motorola is participating at MWC 2017 in Barcelona next month, and if all the reports are anything to go by, we might finally see the next-generation Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. We have already come across a lot of leaks around the upcoming smartphones, and the latest leaves little to imagination. Just a day after an alleged render leak by a case manufacturer, the Moto G5 s specifications and features have been spotted on a retailer s database. Spotted by Tecnoblog, much of what is seen on the database is in line with previous leaks. Surprisingly, there s no mention of a Moto G5 Plus, which too is widely expected to be unveiled next month. Moto G5 specifications, features
According to the retailer, the Moto G5 (model number XT1672) features a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB onboard storage that can be expanded using a microSD card.
The Moto G5 is also expected to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a 2,800mAh battery, and LTE support. On the software front, it is expected to run on Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
To put this into perspective, the Moto G4 was launched in India last year with a price tag of Rs 12,499. It came with features like 5.5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, and microSD card slot. The smartphone also came with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, and nano coating.
If true, these specs and features hint at just an incremental update, which would be a surprising move by Lenovo and Motorola. That said, this being a leak, we would advise you to take the leak with the proverbial pinch of salt.
The companies are also expected to unveil the Moto G5 Plus next month. Per rumors, the Moto G5 Plus could feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, and a microSD card slot. It is also likely to feature a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,080mAh battery, and run on Android Nougat out-of-the-box. Another feature that will differentiate the two smartphones is the fingerprint sensor on the Moto G5 Plus, which is expected to be embedded in the physical home button.
Based on rumors, the Moto G5 is likely to be priced around $230 (approximately Rs 15,600), while the Moto G5 Plus could be priced around $300 (approximately Rs 20,400). Again, as long as things are not confirmed by the company, we recommend this be taken the usual dose of caution.
