Lenovo has pushed out a new software update for its Moto G5 Plus. The update reportedly brings the Android security patch for the September month along with other bug fixes and improvements. While Google promised to incorporate the fix for the BlueBorne vulnerability in the September security update, the Lenovo update doesn’t have that packaged yet. According to Android Headlines, Moto G5S Plus users might have to wait for the update to arrive. There is no word from the company about when the vulnerability patch will be ready for the smartphone. Besides, the update includes the fix for the issue with emergency calling functionality and other system stability enhancements. Even though the September update is here within the first week of the October, there are other smartphone makers like OnePlus, which are yet to release the August security update. The new software update is being rolled out over-the-air (OTA), and thus it will reach all Moto G5S Plus units in phases. However, early adopters and curious geeks can also check for the update manually. To do so, head over to Settings -> About -> System Updates. Before you proceed to install the update, it is imperative that you back up your system data, and ensure that the battery is sufficiently charged over 50 percent. Moto G5S Plus was released in August this year and comes in two variants 16GB storage with 3GB RAM for Rs 14,999, and 32GB storage with 4GB RAM for Rs 16,999. It packs a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 12-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel selfie shooter, and a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone also has Moto Display and Action feature that works as an active blue light filter and one-key navigation.
