Lenovo-owned Motorola has unveiled first 2018 smartphones in the Moto G6-series at an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. These smartphones include the Moto G6 Play, which is an entry-level device, along with the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus. All three smartphones come with Max Vision 18:9 displays with screen-to-body ratio of over 80 percent. All three smartphones also come with 3D curved glass at the back with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphones will be offered in four color options – Sterling Blue, Indigo Blue, Silver and Blue and Fine Gold.
Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 Play price
The Moto G6 Play price starts at $199 for the base model, which is approximately Rs 13,200, whereas the Moto G6 will set you back by $249, which roughly costs around Rs 16,500. The Moto G6 Plus variant, is expected to set you back by around $370, which roughly translates to Rs 24,500. There is no word on the Indian pricing or availability, but considering the Moto G-series has been a success, it would be safe to assume it would launch in the coming months.

Moto G6 Play specifications and features
Starting with the Moto G6 Play, it features a 5.7-inch HD+ display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 308 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. A higher variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage will also be on offer.
In the photography department, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. With 4,000mAh battery, connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, and dual SIM card slots. The smartphone runs on Android Oreo OS, and also includes a fingerprint sensor, and water repellent nano-coating.
Moto G6, specifications and features
The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch full HD+ display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core SoC, with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. A microSD card slot for further expansion is also present.
In the photography department, the smartphone comes with dual cameras at the back – a 12-megapixel primary sensor of aperture f/1.8 and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. It can record full HD videos at 60fps. Up front, is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. Armed with a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging, connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual SIM card slots and 4G VoLTE. On the software front, you get Android Oreo out of the box. For security, you have a fingerprint sensor and a face unlock feature.
Moto G6 Plus specifications and features
The Moto G6 Plus, on the other hand, comes with a slightly larger 5.9-inch full HD+ display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is also a variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
In the photography department, you have dual cameras which include a 12-megapixel primary sensor of f/1.7 aperture, and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for depth. It also supports 4K video recording at 30fps. For selfies and video calling, some markets get an 8-megapixel sensor, whereas some markets get a 16-megapixel sensor.
The smartphone is armed with a 3,200mAh battery and supports Turbo Charging feature. The smartphone also includes water repellent nano-coating, fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature.
