In April this year, Motorola launched the G6 series in Brazil. The line-up consists of three smartphones – Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus – of which the first two were introduced in India in June, and the third launched earlier this week. Now, a new report has surfaced online claiming that the Lenovo-owned company will be launching the Moto G7 series next year.
The folks at MySmartPrice were able to get their hands on an image having the names of two members of Motorola upcoming G7 family – Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus.
It’s further mentioned by MySmartPrice that while Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus will launch sometime next year, there won’t be a Moto G7 Play this time around.
There’s no denying the fact that Motorola has been working on the G7 line-up for quite some time now. Just last month, a batch of photos showcasing two new Moto smartphones had surfaced online. The accompanying report by XDA Developers had claimed that one of these smartphones, shown with a waterdrop-style notch (like the one on the Oppo F9 Pro) could be the upcoming Moto G7.
Using those leaked photos, a graphic designer named Waqar Khan recently mocked up some renders, giving us an idea of what the Moto G7 could look like. The renders show the Moto G7 having minimal bezels on the sides, but also a sizeable chin. Visible up top is a waterdrop notch housing the selfie camera, with the earpiece just above it.

Coming to the back, the design language is largely identical to that of the G6 series. There’s a horizontally-curved rear panel (probably made of glass). You also get a circular protruding module for the dual-camera system and the two-tone LED flash. Just below that is Motorola’s signature ‘Batwing’ logo, which will most likely double up as a fingerprint sensor.
