Motorola launched the Moto M in India yesterday, and the smartphone is now available exclusively via Flipkart. The smartphone is available in two variants — 32GB with 3GB of RAM for Rs 15,999, and the 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM for Rs 17,999. The Moto M flaunts a metal unibody design and comes with P2i s nano coating, which makes it resistant to splashes of water. Motorola has shifted the fingerprint scanner by moving it to the back just below the rear camera lens. Those who are planning on buying the Moto M today can also take advantage of a host of offers. These include Rs 1,000 discount for Citibank credit card holders, and additional Rs 2,000 discount on exchanging your old phone, and EMIs schemes starting from Rs 776 per month. Moto M buyers also get Rs 1,000 off on the Moto Pulse 2 headset, which can now be bought for Rs 499.
Moto M specifications
The Moto M features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass and 401ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio P15 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB and 4GB RAM. There is also a microsSD card to further expand the storage up to 256GB.
On the camera front, the Moto M sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, and Phase Detection Auto-focus (PDAF) support. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel camera. On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz+5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, USB OTG, and USB Type-C port. It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and the company has recently announced that it will soon be rolling-out Android Nougat update to the phone as well. At its price segment, the Moto M will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Gionee P7 Max and Samsung Galaxy On8.
A day after the launch of Moto M, Lenovo also launched the K6 Note. This new smartphone will be sold exclusively offline from December 17, and comes with a similar set of specifications and features.
