Motorola has traditionally used the Maxx moniker for phones with big batteries, while the Moto moniker is used for its more affordable smartphones like the Moto E, Moto G and the Moto X. The mash up of the two nomenclatures could mean that the next Motorola smartphone is an affordable device with a massive battery. Imagine how good a Moto X would be with a bigger battery.
