Moto X4 detailed spec sheet leaked on GFXBench; to feature 3GB of RAM, Android 7.1.1 Nougat

The smartphone is expected to launch on July 25.

We already know that Motorola is working a new smartphone under the name of Moto X4, and thanks to a number of rumors, we know that the company is going to take the wraps off the smartphone very soon. The upcoming smartphone has again been spotted on GFXBench revealing new details. Motorola has sent out media invites for an event on July 25 in New York City. We can expect the smartphone to launch in that event. Initially, the Moto X4 was expected to be unveiled earlier in June, but the launch was delayed. As per the listing which was first spotted by GSMArena, the smartphone carries a model number XT1789. To begin with, the smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. It is expected to sport a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display which is contradictory to previous rumors that hinted the smartphone to feature a 5.2-inch full-HD display. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 630 SoC. Also Read - Motorola Moto Tab G70 appears on BIS, indicates imminent launch

Further, the listing says that the smartphone will come with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. A previous listing confirmed a 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and hence we can expect the phone to launch in two variants. In terms of optics, the GFXBench listing suggests that the smartphone might sport a 12-megapixel sensor at the back and a 16-megapixel front camera. Previous listings suggest that the Moto X4 might come with dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel and other 8-megapixel cameras at the back.

Talking about the design renders hints at an aluminum body with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge-like curved displays. At the back, the Moto X4 might sport a horizontally placed dual-camera setup, with a LED flash right under it. On the front, the leaked image shows the smartphone featuring a home button, which is said to doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. We can also spot the smartphone retaining the 3.5mm audio jack.

From what rumors in the past suggest, the Moto X4 is believed to be armed with a 3,000mAh battery, and come with an IP68 certification, which means the phone will be dust resistant and can be submerged underwater in a maximum depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes.

Apart from that, Motorola is also expected to launch Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force smartphones at the event. The Moto Z2 is expected to sport Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone might feature a dual rear camera setup with one of the sensors bearing a 12-megapixel resolution whereas the front selfie snapper will come with 5-megapixel resolution. Moto Z2 is most likely to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display. On the other hand, the Moto Z2 Force is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset and feature 4GB RAM. Other details remain scarce at the moment.
