Lenovo-owned Motorola was so far rumored to launch the Moto X (2017), which is likely to be called the Moto X4. It s a busy year for Motorola, or rather a busy month, as an event is expected tomorrow, and on June 30 as well. The June 30 event is still scheduled to take place, but without the launch of the Moto X4 according to the latest report. Instead, Motorola might mention details on the Moto Z2, its upcoming flagship smartphone. This speculation comes from Andri Yatim, who had earlier stated that the Moto X4 would launch on June 30. In his tweet, Yatim now says that the June 30 event will witness a Moto E4 Plus launch and maybe a mention of Z2, instead of scheduled X4 launch. Motorola has already announced the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus. The delayed launch of the Moto X4 is said to be the fault of chipmaker Qualcomm. The Moto X4 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, but Qualcomm is reportedly not being able to meet the demand of its mid-range chipset. Motorola hasn t announced anything officially as yet; therefore it is advised that this information be taken with a grain of salt.
The Moto X4 has so far been rumored to feature a glass design, instead of a metal body. The smartphone is also highly tipped to feature a dual-camera setup, which would be a first for Motorola. In terms of specifications, the Moto X4 could feature a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to be fuelled by a 3,800mAh battery along with fast charging support. ALSO READ: Motorola Moto G5S+, Moto X4 specifications, launch date leaked
