With the announcement of the Moto X4 smartphone, Android One has now entered the US market. Motorola is a well-known name in the smartphone industry tagged along with Google’s ambitious Android One project in order to bring pure Android experience to the customers in the US. Besides, Moto X4 Android One is also the first non-Google smartphone that will be made available with Google’s wireless service Project Fi in the US.
Under the Project Fi program by Google, the Moto X4 Android One will be priced at $399 (approximately Rs 26,000) and it will be different than the Moto X4 variant being sold in other markets. According to The Verge, potential buyers in the US can avail a discount of up to $165 (approximately Rs 11,000) in exchange for old Nexus smartphone. Also, Google is giving away additional $50 (approximately Rs 3,900) credit to its customers purchasing a MotoX4 smartphone before October 5. So far, Google Pixel and Pixel XL, starting from $649 (approximately Rs 42,000) were the only two smartphones being sold with Project Fi network in the US.
The Project Fi Moto X4 Android One will have no enhancements or bloatware from Motorola. Apps such as Moto Voice, Moto Access, attentive display, or one-button navigation options will not be included on the Project Fi phone. While Moto X4 boasts of Amazon Alexa integration onboard in other markets, the Project Fi variant in the US seems to have only the Google Assistant.
