Motorola launched the Moto Z2 Play in the US last week, and now the company is all set to launch the smartphone in India today. The Lenovo-owned company is hosting an event today, which kicks off at 12.30 PM IST. The company will be live streaming the launch event, which you can watch here. Flipkart has also put up a page for the Moto Z2 Play confirming that the smartphone will be exclusively available via the e-commerce site. The smartphone is expected to be made available in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold color variants. Leading up to the event, Motorola has already started taking pre-orders for the Moto Z2 Play. There are also a bunch of launch day offers including hello finance offer which includes Rs 2,000 down payment and 10-months EMI without interest. We will also be seeing discounts on Moto Mods like the Hasselblad true zoom and Insta-share projector. Under the Hello armor offer, the company is offering accessories to ensure device protection.
The Moto Mods are among the talking point of the smartphone. Motorola has revealed four new Mods for its Z line of smartphones — JBL SoundBoost 2, the Moto TurboPower Pack, Moto Style Shells with Wireless Charging, and the Moto GamePad. However, we are not really sure as to which mods the company plans to launch in India.
While the pricing of the Moto Z2 Play is currently under wraps, it was launched in the US with a price tag of $499 (Rs 32,000 approximately). To put this price into perspective, the Moto Z Play was launched in India for Rs 24,999.

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. There is also an option to expand the storage further via a microSD card up to 64GB.
On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 12-megapixel dual-pixel auto-focus camera with f/1.7 aperture. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED flash. The Moto Z2 Play comes with connectivity options like dual-SIM support, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C port. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Additionally, the smartphone comes with sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
