Motorola’s upcoming Moto Z3 Play has now shown up in an FCC listing. The smartphone, which will add to the company’s list of mod-friendly devices, was first detailed in case renders yesterday, suggesting the absence of the 3.5mm headphone jack. The latest listing now reveals more than just the lack of one element. In its FCC listing, the Moto Z3 Play, with model number, XT-1929, is revealed almost in entirety. Spotted by Nashville Chatter, the listing reveals that the Moto Z3 Play will run Android Oreo out-of-the-box. It is further speculated to pack a large 6.1-inch display. However, the display resolution is unknown by far. Also Read - Motorola Moto E40 budget smartphone launched in India with a price under Rs 10,000
Other than the big display, it is expected that the smartphone will pack a dual-camera setup at the back. If the report is anything to go by, we might see a combination of a 12-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel sensor at the back. Up front, it is expected to pack a 5-megapixel camera.
As for chipset, the Moto Z3 Play will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. Some reports indicate that Motorola could be considering Snapdragon 84 SoC on the upcoming smartphone. It could be fueled by a 3,000mAh battery, similar to its predecessor Moto Z2 Play.

The Moto Z3 Play case renders, on the other hand, show a circular dual-camera setup at the back, a connector for the Moto Mods, and cutouts for other buttons on the device. However, what is missing is the 3.5mm headphone jack. One of the notable differences is the repositioning of the fingerprint scanner at the side of the smartphone. This could be due to the possible inclusion of a taller display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
In comparison, the Moto Z2 Play features a much smaller 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display with Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core 2.2GHz SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For optics, there’s a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is priced at Rs 27,999.
