The long rumored gold variant of the Motorola Moto 360 is real. Leaked images of the gold Moto 360 started floating on the web last month, and speculations reached a new height when it made a brief stop on Amazon. In a blogpost, Motorola announced several new peripherals for its smartwatch including interchangeable bands especially metal-faced bands in both grey and champagne gold colors. The company has remained committed to providing latest upgrade and extensive customization offerings to the Moto 360. Users will be able to create interface designs for their watch’s display via an app called My Design. Motorola also announced a fitness tracking feature called Moto Body, which would help users monitor heart rate, steps, calories burned, among other things. Until now the watch has been available only with a leather strap; more choices especially the metal and gold color variants would help the company market the device as a piece of jewellery. The company also announced that it will be offering a selection of thinner bands and straps favorable with smaller wrists in coming months. The standard Moto 360 costs $250 (Rs 17,999 Indian retail price). The company said that the aircraft-grade steel edition will cost $299, while the gold variant will cost a further $30. These will become available this holiday season.
