As expected, Motorola today launched the Moto 360 Sport smartwatch in India. This launch comes more than four months after the company had launched the leather and metal variants of the Moto 360 smartwatch in India. The Motorola Moto 360 Sport, as the name suggests, is a smartwatch aimed at sports enthusiasts and athletes. Unlike the leather and metal variants, the Moto 360 Sport features a rubber body and silicone straps. The silicone doesn t absorb sweat and resists fading or staining, and the watch also includes side ventilation channels that help one stay cool. The smartwatch features a built-in GPS to track the distance you ran as well as the route, and also boasts a heart-rate sensor, to monitor the physical exertion. Other sensors include gyroscope, accelerometer, altimeter, which together help you monitor your physical activities.
Motorola Moto 360 Sport specifications, features: The smartwatch flaunts a 1.37-inch display with 360×325 pixels resolution and 263ppi density. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and also features what Motorola calls AnyLight Display. This ‘hybrid screen’ automatically adapts to the light level indoors for reading purposes, while outdoors it reflects natural light, making the screen clear and sharp.
The Moto 360 Sport features a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 512MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB internal storage, 300mAh battery that Motorola says is good enough to last a full day, wireless charging support and connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. On the software front, it runs on Android Wear, and is compatible with smartphones running on Android 4.3 or higher, and iOS 8.2 or higher.
Priced at 19,999, the Moto 360 Sport will have to compete against the likes of the Fitbit Surge and even the slightly more expensive Apple Watch Sport.
