Lenovo-backed Motorola is already working on two new affordable smartphones, the Moto C and the Moto C Plus. We already have a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming Moto smartphones thanks to rumors we have come across so far. The latest rumour moves a step further and confirms that the Moto C and Moto C Plus smartphones will launch in the month of June, according to a report by Indiatoday. While there is no official confirmation about the same, the smartphones are expected to launch in India next month. While other details of the launch are not known at the moment, the smartphones are said to go loggerheads with the likes of Xiaomi’s Redmi 4A. To put things into perspective, the Redmi 4A is priced at Rs 5,999. Considering that, we can expect the Moto C smartphone to fall under the sub-Rs 10,000 category.
From what we know so far, Moto C smartphone will launch in grey and red color variants. Looking at the renders closely, we now know that Motorola will be launching a ‘Plus’ variant of the smartphone as well. As for the Moto C smartphone, it comes with a thick body and a camera bulge at the rear end. However, the Moto C Plus will be comparatively slim as compared to the base variant. Apart from this, both smartphones come with a common design like capacitive navigation-buttons up front, a camera module with flash, a rear loudspeaker, a front-facing LED-flash and power button and volume buttons on the right-hand side. The render images, however, show that the Moto C and Moto C Plus will come sans fingerprint scanner. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet and hence we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.
In terms of specifications, the Moto C is expected to come with a 5-inch HD (720p) display with a pixel density of 294ppi. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC paired along with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the phone is expected to sport a 16-megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The smartphone is said to be armed with a 3,800mAh battery. Other reports also say that there will be a 3G-only Moto C that will run on the 32-bit 1.3GHz quad-core processor, while at the same time there will also be a 4G model that runs on 64-bit 1.1GHz quad-core chip. The two models of the Moto C will come with 8/16GB storage, whereas the Moto C Plus will have 16GB of storage onboard. Both the Moto C and Moto C Plus will run Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. The rest of the specifications of the two smartphones remain identical.
