Shortly after launching the Moto Z2 Play and v smartphones in India, Lenovo-owned Motorola is now gearing for another smartphone launch in the market. The company is going to hold an event in Delhi on June 19 to announce the launch of the smartphone, dubbed as the Moto C Plus. The Moto C Plus was unveiled last month alongside the Moto C smartphone. The C-series marks the company’s growing focus on the entry-level and budget smartphones. In fact, the Moto C and Moto C Plus are said to be the cheapest smartphones launched by Motorola after the Moto E3 Power. Just like the Moto C, the Plus variant is also said to feature a micro-textured back. Sporting a Moto M look, the Moto C Plus has a clean design with the capacitive touch buttons on the front, the circular camera lens on the rear and Moto branding placed below it. The speaker grille is placed on the rear end, the power button and volume rocker are on the right. The 3.5mm audio jack along with the USB port is placed on the top. Motorola Moto C Plus specification
The Moto C Plus sports a 5-inch display just like Moto C but with an HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution instead of FWVGA. Under the hood, the smartphone is said to come with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU coupled with 1GB or 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD slot (up to 32GB).
On the camera front, the Moto C Plus sports an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture, while the front camera is a 2-megpaixel camera with f/2.8 aperture. The Moto C Plus gets a much bigger 4,000mAh removable battery than the 2,350mAh battery seen on Moto C. It will also ship with 10W rapid charger for quick charging the battery. On the connectivity front, the Moto C Plus is expected to launch the dual-SIM 4G VoLTE variant in India. The handset runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
If launched in the same price bracket, the Moto C Plus is set to face fierce competition with the likes of some already well-established smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Nokia 6 and Yu Yureka Black. Apart from this, Motorola is gearing up to launch several other new smartphones. The company has sent out media invites for an event scheduled on June June 21. The company is expected to launch Moto Z2 Force, Moto X4, Moto E4 Plus smartphones. Considering the recent launches, we can expect Moto to launch the Moto Z2 Force, Moto X4, Moto E4 Plus smartphones in India soon as well.
