After launching the Moto G and the Moto X in India, Motorola is all set to launch the entry-level Moto E at an event in Delhi tomorrow. Courtesy of all the leaks in the past few weeks, we know what the device looks like and the kind of specifications it will boast. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the Moto E. In terms of design, the Moto E looks very similar to the Moto G. In fact, you might need a second glance to tell if it is the Moto E or the Moto G, at least from the rear. The Moto E will also get most of the customization options we got on the Moto G. When you look closely, you will see that the matte-finished back panel has a slightly different pattern, on the front there doesn’t seem to be a front camera and it is a bit thicker than the Moto G. There is also a chrome strip at the front, which is likely to be the front-facing speaker. Also Read - Moto G Stylus 5G launched with Snapdragon 480 SoC: Check price, specifications
As far as specifications are concerned, recent reports claim that the Moto E will feature a 4.3-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and it will be powered by a Snapdragon dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. Also included is 4GB internal storage, which unlike on the other two Motorola smartphones, is likely to be expandable using a microSD card. The Moto E is also expected to feature a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1,980mAh battery, connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and on the software front, it will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Globally, the Moto E is expected to be available in three variants — single-SIM, dual-SIM and dual-SIM with digital TV. But we expect only the dual-SIM variant to be made available in India. It is likely to be priced under Rs 10,000 and like other Motorola smartphones, will be exclusively available on Flipkart starting from May 14. If the Moto G’s success in the mid-range segment is anything to go by, we expect the Moto E to really shakeup the sub-Rs 10,000 segment in India.
The Motorola Moto E will be launched tomorrow at a parallel event in New Delhi and London. We will be at the launch event to bring you the latest details and price, so stay tuned.
