Last week, Motorola sent us an invite for a launch event on May 13, where it is expected to launch the Moto E. While the invite doesn’t explicitly mention it, but a listing on Indian import website Zauba has confirmed that the company will indeed be launching the Moto E. Moto E on the import listing is preceded by the codename XT1021 (single SIM), XT1022 (dual SIM) and XT1025 (dual SIM with digital TV) model numbers, which is consistent with earlier reports. The listing also reveals that the import price for the device is Rs 6,330. While the retail price will be higher than that, it is another indication that the Moto E will be priced under Rs 10,000. As far as specifications are concerned, the entry-level Moto E is expected to feature a 4.3-inch display, dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will retain the Moto G’s 5-megapixel primary camera and also have FM Radio, a 1,900mAh battery, dual-SIM card slots, 3G support and run on Android 4.4 KitKat. It will also be only 6.2mm thin.
Like the other Motorola smartphones in India, the Moto E too is expected to be available exclusively on Flipkart. If the Moto G’s success is anything to go by, the Moto E is all set to shake up the Indian entry-level smartphone market.
