After announcing the Moto E3 smartphone in July, Lenovo-owned Motorola is now gearing up to launch the smartphone in India, but a slightly beefed up version. Flipkart has been teasing the smartphone launch for the past few hours by dropping some hints. Now, the company has posted a photo of the Moto E3 Power on its Facebook page and also mentioned that it will be launched on September 19. The Moto E3 Power recently received Wi-Fi certification, which also revealed some of its specifications and features. As per the listing, the Moto E3 Power with codename XT1706 features a 5-inch HD 720p display, which is slightly larger compared to 4.5-inch on the Moto E (2015). The smartphone could be powered by MediaTek’s 64-bit MT6735P quad core chipset (four Cortex A-53 cores) clocked at 1GHz. Paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot for further expansion is also expected. The upgrades also come in the camera department with the smartphone featuring an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Now, as the name suggests, the Moto E3 Power is expected to pack a 3,500mAh battery. The Moto E3 comes with smudge-resistant screen protection, and the same is expected on the ‘Power’ variant too. Connectivity wise, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE options are likely to be in tow. As of now, there is no word on the pricing, but Moto E3 is priced at $131 in the US, which roughly translates to Rs 8,900. At this price point the Moto E3 Power will take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus, Intex Aqua View and Panasonic Eluga A2. Interestingly, the recently launched Moto G4 Play is priced at Rs 8,999 in India. Until now, Motorola’s E-series always had an entry-level price of around Rs 5,999, with Moto G series placed in the affordable segment, priced between Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,500. It remains to be seen how aggressive Motorola can get with the Moto E3 Power’s pricing in India.
