While the listing does not reveal much information about the Moto E5 series, it does confirm that these phones will launch with a 4,000mAh battery. The details about the Moto E5 series first appeared in a leak earlier this month when the smartphone was shown in the form of a render. The Moto E5 isn t expected to differ much from the existing Moto E4 in terms of design. The smartphone is said to launch on April 3, a few months prior to June, when the Moto E4 launched last year.
The Moto E5 is expected to sport the same metal unibody design like its predecessor, and the leaked render suggests it will get rid of the front home button. Reports also suggest that the smartphone will have a rear fingerprint sensor embedded within the Moto dimple at the back. Another change is the new ‘Motorola’ branding at the front replacing the existing Moto branding.
While there isn’t much details on the specifications of the device just yet, it is clear that Moto E5 and E5 Plus won’t feature a display with the new 18:9 aspect ratio. Other known details include a rear camera setup that will protrude a bit and a front camera setup with dedicated flash. Moto E5 and E5 Plus are also expected to stick with microUSB port and not go in the direction of USB Type-C slot for charging.
Moto E4 and E4 Plus were primarily targeted at the offline retail segment and these upcoming phones could come with same specifications as before but with improved design. Motorola’s 2018 product lineup leaked early this month revealing the new G6 series, Moto X5 and Moto Z3 smartphones. All these devices will feature thinner bezels and 18:9 display. Motorola is also expected to launch a 5G MotoMod for Moto Z series.
