Motorola today launched the third-generation Moto G in India. The mid-range smartphone is available in two storage variants, 8GB and 16GB, which are priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively. The Moto G (third generation) will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting midnight tonight and Motorola is offering launch day offers, which are applicable till August 2. The company will put on sale the White and the Black variant. However Motorola has not revealed the total number of units it will put on sale. As an introductory offer, the Moto G (third-generation) has been bundled up with many schemes. The company has planned to include 100 percent cashback for 100 buyers, 100 lucky customers will also get the Moto 360 smartwatch for just Re 1. All those who buy the smartphone till August 2, will also get a Rs 600 voucher for Flipkart fashion, and 33 percent off on Myntra. Buyers will also get a free Airtel 4G SIM card, free Wynk Plus subscription, and double data offer for six months.
To recap on the specs, the Motorola Moto G (third-generation) flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display with a pixel density of 294ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU. The 8GB variant features 1GB of RAM, while the 16GB variant features 2GB of RAM.
On the photography front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera, which the company says is as good as the one on th Nexus 6. Up front is a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone also features microSD card slot, and a 2,470mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 24 hours of mixed usage.
Connectivity options include LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. In line with earlier rumors, the new Moto G also comes with IPx7 certification, which makes it resistant to water.
