While Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch the next phone in line in the Moto X and Moto Z by next week, the company is also preparing to launch the successor of the last year s Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. We have been coming across a bunch of leaks around the new Moto G phones, but an official detail has been awaited all this while. According to a set up recently published documents on Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus have received a certification. As per the listing, the smartphone received the certification earlier this month. Both models were initially submitted for testing in late March and are confirmed as being compatible with Bluetooth 4.2. The testing documentation from Bluetooth SIG doesn t reveal many other details about the handsets, though it indicates that both will be running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. From what we know so far, the overall design of both phones is going to be very similar to the Moto G5. Both the phones will come in a metal body. While Moto G5S will be the smaller and cheaper version, sans the dual rear camera setup, the larger Moto G5S Plus highlight would be the same. In terms of specifications, the Moto G5S will feature a 5.2-inch FHD display, and Moto G5S Plus will come with a larger 5.5-inch FHD display. The phones have been in grey, gold, and blue color variants till now. Additionally, both the smartphones will run on Android Nougat out-of-the-box. The date of launch hasn t yet been revealed, neither do we have any details on the processor, RAM or storage on the two device.
In order to get a perspective, the Moto G5 was launched with a 5-inch FHD display, running Android Nougat 7.0. It was powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset, which came in two variants, a 16GB version with 3GB of RAM, and a 32GB version with 4GB of RAM. For photography, it sport a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. Moto G5 is fuelled by a 2,800mAh battery. Moto G5 Plus, on the other hand, was launched with a larger 5.2-inch FHD display with Snapdragon 625 chipset. The phone sport a 12-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front camera. The internal memory of the G5 Plus is the same as that of Moto G5. Battery of the Moto G5 Plus, however, was a larger 3000mAh one.
