Lenovo-owned Motorola announced the Moto M in India last year. The smartphone was shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The mid-range smartphone was expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade, but so far, there had been no news from Motorola regarding the timeline for the update. The new Android 7.0 update is already rolling out and most users can expect to receive it in the coming days if not already available. The new update was first spotted and reported by FoneArena. The update is not the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 version, but the more older variant and thus, brings only incremental changes to the device. The changelog for the smartphone too does not mention any major changes. The update does change the UI and some elements of the smartphone, making it more in tune with Android Nougat. The update is a decently heavy file and the user will need enough space as it weighs about 1.25GB in size. Also Read - Motorola G51 5G price, launch time tipped in new leak

Once the user switches to Android Nougat 7.0, there can be no change back to the older version. While Motorola is streaming the new update OTA, if the user hasn’t received it yet, the file can be found under Settings app in the smartphone. The update does not affect or erase any data but it might be wise to take a backup of all data before commencing installation of Android Nougat on the Motorola Moto M. The smartphone will also need to have over 50 percent battery while downloading and installing the update along with a strong network connection.
