Motorola launched the Moto X (second-gen) in September last year for Rs 32,999. A few months ago, the third generation Moto X was expected to release at MWC 2015, but that didn’t happen. The Moto X (3rd Gen) is most likely to hit the shelves in September this year and the report states that the smartphone will flaunt a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with QHD resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 565ppi. On the photography front, the Moto X (3rd Gen) will sport a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. It may pack a 3,280mAh battery and run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. There is no word on the price yet.
In comparison, the Moto X (2nd Gen) flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED 1080p display with a pixel density of 423ppi, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It comes in 16GB and 32GB storage options.
It also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash, and 4K video recording capabilities, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, front-facing stereo speakers, and a 2,300mAh battery. On the software front, the smartphone was launched running on Android KitKat, but has been upgraded to Android Lollipop.
The next gen Moto X is said to be ‘smarter than any other smartphone’, and is likely to come with many new user friendly features just like its predecessors.
