Motorola is hosting an event at its headquarters in Chicago where it might launch as many as three new smartphones. The Lenovo-owned smartphone maker might launch the flagship Moto Z3 alongside the Android One-based Motorola One and Motorola One Power at the event. The event is scheduled to start at 2PM CDT (or 12.30AM IST on August 3 in India) in Chicago today. While Lenovo has not offered updates on how it plans ot livestream the event, the company has posted a teaser video on YouTube does hint at launch of three new devices. “Say ‘HELLO’ To A Whole New Way To Connect, Stream, Download, Video Chat, And More. Ahead of today’s launch, Motorola has managed to maintain some level of secrecy around the launch of these three devices. Moto Z3 would be the most important device since it marks three generation of company’s modular smartphone design and might bring in new MotoMods that were previously not available for its smartphones. Motorola One and Motorola One Power are expected to be Motorola’s first Android One devices, which could mean a renewed focus on software from the company.
Moto Z3: Specifications and Features
Motorola Moto Z3 will be a flagship device that will take on the like of Samsung Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6, Huawei P20 Pro and others in the premium smartphone segment. It will feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. It might feature ShatterShield technology to ensure the display does not crack easily.
It is expected to sport a metal and glass sandwich design and could be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. It is expected to feature dual 12-megapixel camera setup with one telephoto lens. It is also rumored to come with a 5G MotoMod that will make the smartphone ready for future wireless network. The smartphone should support Quick Charge 4.0 and might even pack a large 4,000mAh battery.
Motorola One, Motorola One Power: Specifications and Features
Motorola One and Motorola One Power were recently spotted on the TENAA certification site in China. In terms of specifications, the Moto One Power will feature a 6.18-inch display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by an octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 CPU and will be offered with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage.
The Motorola One Power could feature a dual rear camera setup comprising of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors. At the front, it is expected to feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Moto One Power could pack a large 4,850mAh battery and support fast charging.

Motorola One, on the other hand, is likely to feature a 6.2-inch display and will also be powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC. It will pack a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and is expected to pack dual camera comprising of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The smartphone is also expected to pack a 3,780mAh battery.
Moto Z3 Price and Availability
Moto Z3 has been already listed in Brazil for R$ 2,299, which translates to Rs 41,500. In the US, it is expected to start at $499, making it direct competitor to OnePlus 6. The USP of the smartphone will be support for MotoMods, which may come bundled with the device.
