Motorola is scheduled to launch its next generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones in about eight hours from now but that hasn’t deterred a Brazilian retailer to publish a promo video on YouTube. The video has since been taken down but not before being uploaded by others to confirm everything we already knew about the smartphone. The video confirms yet again that the Moto G successor will also be called the Moto G and not the Moto G2 that many were expecting. On the features side, we now know for sure that the new Moto G will feature a 5-inch 720p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash as well as a front facing camera. It would run on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and knowing Motorola it could be one of the first few non-Nexus devices to get the Android L update. The new Moto G will also have dual-SIM card slots and Gorilla glass protection for the display. The video also shows dual front-firing speakers. Earlier rumors have also suggested a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM. Considering that even the entry-level Moto E has nano coating to protect the smartphone from liquid damage both outside and inside, it is highly likely for Motorola to bring it to the Moto G as well. The only things missing are the pricing and availability. We know that Flipkart has already imported the new Moto G units and Motorola is hosting a press conference in New Delhi later today, it won’t take long for the launch.
