At IFA 2018 in September, the Motorola One and One Power Android phones were made official. Last week, Motorola One Power smartphone users in India were treated to Android 9 Pie OS update. Owners of Motorola One in Mexico have now confirmed on the forums of XDA Developers that they are now receiving the Android 9 Pie software update.
The screenshots seen below confirm the arrival of the latest Android version for Motorola One users in Mexico. Now that it has been made available in Mexico, users in other regions too are expected to receive the Android 9 Pie update soon.
The build number of the update is PPK29.68-16-8. The mentioning of DEEN in the base version refers to the codename of the Motorola One. Also, the inclusion of LATAM in base version confirms that the build is meant for users of Motorola One in Latin America.
The latest software update for Motorola One users includes the security patch update for November 2018. The Android 9 Pie update brings a refreshed UI and revamped Quick Settings, an improved split-screen mode, enhanced Do Not Disturb mode, easier volume settings, and native support gesture-based navigations. The update also improves the battery performance of the smartphone.
In India, the Lenovo-owned company is selling only the Motorola One Power smartphone. The same phone is available in China as Motorola P30 Note and comes with ZUI overlay. The One Power comes with specs like 6.2-inch IPS LCD notched screen, Snapdragon 636 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual cameras, 12-megapixel front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. It is selling in India with a price tag of Rs 15,999.
The Motorola One, on the other hand, features a 5.9-inch notched IPS LCD display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual cameras, 8-megapixel frontal shooter, and a 3,000mAh battery.
