Motorola is set to join Google’s Android One program with the launch of two new smartphones next month. The Lenovo-owned company is expected to debut Motorola One and Motorola One Power smartphones as part of Android One partnership on August 2.
The Motorola One and Motorola One Power have already been part of few leaks in the past and now, the Motorola One has appeared in two images showing its white color variant. The Motorola One is expected to arrive in Black and White color options. The leaked renders of Motorola One and One Power reveal Android One text on the back, suggesting Motorola is joining HMD Global and Xiaomi as partner.
Both the devices will feature a notched display and offer vertically stacked dual rear cameras separated by LED flash on the back. Both the images leaked today only show the rear design of the upcoming Motorola One and it does not seem to sport the Android One branding. Early this week, a mysterious Motorola smartphone was spotted without a notched display and vertical dual camera.
It also did not feature Android One branding and it is widely speculated that these non-Android One edition smartphones will become part of Moto series. There is also a possibility that we are looking at prototype device that does not feature the Android One branding and is being used as test sample within the company.
For the moment, the rumors surrounding the upcoming Motorola One smartphone seems very much confusing. It is confirmed that there will be two smartphones named Motorola One and Motorola One Power and they won’t differ much in terms of specifications. While Motorola smartphones already run near-stock Android experience, these two devices will have Android One branding that ensures timely software updates.
