Motorola One Power, the first smartphone based on Android One program from Lenovo-owned company, will be launched in India today. The smartphone was silently introduced at IFA 2018 last month alongside Motorola One but the company is only bringing the One Power to India.
With Motorola One Power, Motorola is embracing a model similar to HMD Global, where its smartphones will get additional Google features and have an ‘Android One’ branding at the back. Ahead of the launch, Motorola has already confirmed that the Motorola One Power will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The launch is scheduled for 12:00PM IST, and Motorola will be offering livestream for the event. Those interested in the Motorola One Power can also register for the device on Motorola India’s website.
Motorola was once the second biggest smartphone brand after Samsung in India but in the past few years, the company has lost its position to Chinese smartphone makers. Motorola’s Moto G series, which was once the best-selling series in the country, also diminished in terms of popularity. With Motorola One Power, Lenovo and Motorola want to win back those customers and the question will be whether it can compete with Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.

Motorola One Power India Launch: Expected Price
At IFA 2018 in Berlin, Motorola executives told BGR India that the Motorola One Power will launch in the Rs 13,999-15,999 price segment. If the smartphone is priced on the higher end of the price spectrum then it might end up being dead on arrival. It will be a tough sell against smartphones like the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Xiaomi’s excellent Mi A2 based on Android One.
