Almost on cue, Motorola has sent out media invites for a launch event on September 14, where it is expected to launch the Moto X Play. Yesterday, Motorola teased the imminent Moto X Play launch on Twitter. It highlighted the smartphone s massive 3,630mAh battery, which it claims is good enough for 30 hours of backup. While the teaser only hints at the Moto X Play, the company is also expected to unveil the more premium Moto X Style at the same event. As is the case with Motorola’s smartphones, both are expected to be on sale exclusively via Flipkart.
Motorola launched the two smartphones in the US last month. The Moto X Play features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB/32GB internal storage with microSD card slot. It also includes a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-CCT flash, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
As mentioned above, the Moto X Style is the more premium of the two. It features a 5.7-inch QHD display, 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage, and microSD card slot.
It also features a 21-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
