A Motorola smartphone with the model number XT1797 has received FCC certification in the US. The FCC listing shows that this particular smartphone has mid-range specifications. Although, the listing doesn t clarify which smartphone this is, there is reason to believe that it could be the rumored Moto G5S or Moto G5S Plus. The Moto G5S Plus and the Moto G5S were leaked previously along with a host of other Moto devices slated to be launched this year. According to the FCC listing, the Moto XT1797 smartphone is powered by Qualcomm s MSM8937 SoC, which is the Snapdragon 430 chipset. The Moto G5 launched earlier this year uses the same SoC. This hints on the slight possibility that it could be the Moto G5S or Moto G5S Plus, since the smartphones are expected to be upgraded variants of the Moto G5 series. Moreover, the Moto XT1797 smartphone is listed with a 5.5-inch display, which is the same for the Moto G5S Plus. Since the rest of the specifications for the Moto G5S and Moto G5S are still in the dark, the speculations end here.
Continuing with the Moto XT1797, the smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery with support for the company s TurboPower charging. The connectivity options available on the Moto XT1797 include dual-SIM support (Hybrid SIM slot), and Bluetooth 4.2. Although there is no surety whether Motorola would launch this smartphone, and if it belongs to the speculated Moto G5S series, the similarities cannot be ignored. The Moto G5S and the Moto G5S showing up on the leaked product lineup was rather a surprise, since the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus were already launched this year. Up until now, the only specifications known about the smartphones include a 5.2-inch display on the Moto G5S and 5.5-inch on the Moto G5S Plus. There have been leaked images of the Moto G5S and Moto G5S which unsurprisingly showed a similar design and look to the Moto G5 series. Some differences in the design were a full metal body for the Moto G5S and Moto G5S as opposed to the metal black plate and plastic sides on the Moto G5 series. More changes include visible antenna lines on the back of the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus. Otherwise, the design language remains the same on the smartphones overall. There is no word on when Motorola would launch these smartphones. As of now, the company is busy with the Moto Z2 lineup, with the Moto Z2 Play launched in India today. ALSO READ:
