Motorola’s Moto C2 could launch as an Android Go smartphone

This will be Motorola’s first Android Go smartphone.

Lenovo-owned Motorola is reportedly working on the One Power smartphone that will run on the Android One program. Now, if we have to go by the recent certifications, Motorola could also be gearing up to launch its first Android Go based smartphone. The smartphone in question here carries a model number XT1920, and it has been recently approved by the ECC for sales in Asian and European markets. Now, according to a new listing spotted by Nashville Chatter on FCC s website, the smartphone will also be making its way to North America. While there is no word on how the smartphone will look, some of its specifications have surfaced. The alleged Moto C2 comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage, along with a battery capacity between 2,000mAh and 2,100mAh. The smartphone supports LTE network, and with dimensions measuring 147.88 x 71.22mm, it could sport a display between 5-inch and 5.2-inch. While things are presently unclear, considering the specifications, the Moto C2 is likely to be an entry-level smartphone. And there are chances that with the Moto C2, Motorola may switch to Android Go OS.

In comparison, last year s Moto C features a 5-inch FWVGA display with 854 480 pixels resolution, and it is powered by a MediaTek MT6580M quad-core SoC paired with 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage. On the software front, the Moto C runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.

In terms of optics, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, LED flash, and 2-megapixels front camera. The smartphone packs a removable 2,350mAh battery, with connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.2.
