Sony has showcased its wearable device called SmartBand SWR10. Referring to it as Life Bookmarking, CEO and President of Sony Mobile Kunimasa Suzuki talked about the device, telling about how it can track your daily activities and be a part of your life. The SmartBand uses Bluetooth and NFC to connect to an Android smartphone via the Lifelog app. Using this app, you can check out the events tracked by the SmartBand’s Core on your smartphone. Also Read - Amazon is also skipping MWC over Coronavirus concerns
The SmartBand is waterproof, so it can be worn 24×7. It will keep a track of how much you run, or what music you listen to, the movies you watched, books read and games played. It will also notify if you get a call, message, Tweet or Like by a simple vibrating alert. And if you happen to move away from the connected Android smartphone, it will alert too. Since it measures your sleep cycle, it can be used as an alarm. Another interesting feature is that the Walkman app on the phone can be controlled by tapping the band.
Sony says the SmartBand will be available in 60 markets worldwide from March 2014, initially in Black but more colors, including a special 2014 FIFA World Cup edition will join soon.
