A long-standing rumor has been that LG will be showcasing the upgraded V30 smartphone at MWC 2018. However, recently some company officials refuted the news saying that there would be an LG G7 revealed instead. In the midst of this, ETNews has now reported that the upgraded model will, in fact, be called LG V30s and will focus on AI and something called LG Lens.

The report also reveals that the LG V30s model will have 256GB of onboard storage, double of what the LG V30+ offers and four times the 64GB of the base model. Also, the report claims the launch to be scheduled for the Mobile Congress.

As for the LG Lens mentioned above, it is believed to be LG’s new vision-based assistant. From what the report reveals, it will allow you to click a picture, which will be used by the AI to recognize objects and seek out its prices. Much like the feature offered by Samsung’s Bixby.

Lens can also translate text (like QuickTranslator) as well as give you the location-based info. It also does barcode and QR code recognition.

The report also claims to reveal an estimated price of the LG V30s. Apparently, the smartphone will be priced at around one-million won ($920/€750), which approximately translates to Rs 59,000.
