Can you keep your excitement till Samsung officially announces Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+? No? Well, people who have got the chance to experience the devices first hand are also unable to keep calm before the mega launch. After the promotional video of the Galaxy S9 series went accidentally live, the latest, and hopefully the last leak, is in the form of hands-on photos of the flagship smartphones. So far, everything is known about the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ through leaks, renders, benchmark results and what not. Now thanks to the set of new images, the visual element of the puzzle is complete. As reported by BGR.com, two different set of hands-on photos of the Galaxy S9 have surfaced online. The two photos were posted on Instagram, but were subsequently removed. They have been grabbed by the publication, and it would be incorrect to say the phones do look impressive. One of the photos show off the new Lilac Purple model, while in the other set, the repositioned fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S9 is shown in full glory.
Although the images have been pulled down, there’s now less of a buzz left before the actual announcement of the smartphones. The Galaxy S8 successors are likely to retain most of the design language with a few tweaks and nudges here and there. One of the talking points of the smartphones is the camera, which has been improved to accommodate low light shots better.
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will also belong to the first set of Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 smartphones. However, as is the case, the smartphones with Qualcomm chipset will be available in select regions, while other regions will receive an Exynos variant.
Other features which we will see in the soon-to-be-announced phones include IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, Android Oreo running out-of-the-box, facial recognition, iris scanning, and an Apple iPhone X-like Animoji feature. Additionally, a bunch of new accessories including an improved wireless charger and a new DeX Pad are also likely to be announced alongside the smartphones.
Samsung keynote will start at 10:30 PM (IST), and BGR India will be covering it live. So stay tuned for all the updates and important information from the biggest tech show happening in Barcelona.
