After launching the Mi MIX 2 last year, Xiaomi is reportedly working on a slightly upgraded Mi MIX 2s with design and under the hood improvements. Rumors hint that the smartphone will be announced at MWC 2018, which is less than 10 days away from now. However, Xiaomi has not sent invites for any event so far. Whether we will see the smartphone at MWC or not, that doesn t stop leaks and rumors from pouring out. The folks over at OnPhones managed to get their hands on the alleged Mi MIX 2s. They have also shared a small video clip that shows off one of the interesting additions that could be coming to the new smartphone. Just like the iPhone X, the bezel-less Mi MIX 2 could also employ gestures support, at least for accessing the task switcher. It is a 12-second video that shows off swiping up from the bottom edge to bring the cards like task switcher interface. Sadly, the video does not demonstrate other gestures, and those will remain a mystery till Xiaomi announces the smartphone and details its features.
A recently leaked render hinted that Xiaomi will be moving the front-facing camera from the bottom bezel to the top-right corner. However, as the video only shows the bottom of the smartphone, it is difficult to verify that, and we will have to wait until we see the full front of the smartphone in the leaks to come.
Based on the rumors so far, the Mi MIX 2s could be the first smartphone to ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. The smartphone is expected to come with a 5.99-inch bezel-less display with a screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent, and a display with 18:9 aspect ratio. With a 3,400mAh battery, the smartphone is likely to ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
