On the day one of MWC 2018, ZTE has launched two new smartphones. While the ZTE Blade V9 falls in the mid-segment category, the ZTE Tempo Go is the company’s first smartphone associated with Google’s Android Go. From last year’s Blade V8 Pro, Blade V9 has upped the value with a brand new design, updated specifications, and Android Oreo out-of-the-box. However, the biggest difference comes in form of display and hardware. Following the latest smartphone trend, the ZTE Blade V9 sports an aluminum frame with a glass back. The highlight though is the 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. There are also dual-cameras on the rear with a special sensor dedicated to low-light photography. In terms of specifications, the Blade V9 runs Android Oreo. The smartphone is equipped with 4GB of RAM, and up to 64GB of storage. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 processor under the hood. In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a combination of a 16-megapixel and a 5-megapixel sensors. Additionally, ZTE also announced a smaller version of this phone, called the Blade V9 Vita. The design of the phone is same is the larger variant, except it has a smaller 5.45-inch 18:9 display, lower-end Snapdragon 435 processor, and only 3GB of RAM. The cameras also gets a downgrade with a 13-megapixel plus 2-megapixel rear setup at the back, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
Finally, ZTE also launched Android Go-powered Tempo Go smartphone, which will soon be arriving in the US. The $79 (Rs 5,000 approximately) phone isn’t very impressive when it comes to its specifications, but Google’s Android Go optimizations, make it a much better deal.
The ZTE Tempo Go comes with a Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. There’s also a 5-inch 854×480 pixels display, 2,200mAh battery, 5-megapixel camera at the rear, and a 2-megapixel sensor at the front.
