Qualcomm Snapdragon 632
Built on a 14-nm FinFET process, the Snapdragon 632 SoC is designed to offer 40 percent performance improvement over the Snapdragon 626 platform. It features an octa-core CPU with 8 Kryo 250 cores, out of which four are performance cores with maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz, and the remaining four are efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It is paired with Adreno 506 GPU.
The chipset supports display resolutions up to Full HD+. In the photography department, the Snapdragon 632 SoC comes with support for a 24-megapixel single rear camera or dual cameras each supporting up to 13-megapixel resolution. The dual cameras bring support for real-time bokeh and wide-angle.
The chipset also enables 4K video capture, something that was missing in the Snapdragon 626 platform. Lastly, the chipset also supports X9 LTE modem for fast cellular speeds, dual VoLTE and LTE Advanced technologies such as carrier aggregation.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 439, Snapdragon 429
Both the Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 mobile platforms are built on 12nm FinFET process, which is a massive improvement over the existing Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 425 platforms that are built on 28nm process. Qualcomm claims that the new chipsets will offer 25 percent better performance and efficiency.
The Snapdragon 439 SoC supports display resolution up to Full HD+, single rear camera up to 21-megapixel, or dual cameras each of 8-megapixel resolution. The octa-core CPU features 8 Cortex-A53 cores where four are performance cores clocked at 1.95GHz, whereas the other four are efficiency cores clocked at 1.45GHz. The chipset also comes with Adreno 505 GPU, which offers up to 20 faster graphics performance compared to Snapdragon 430 mobile platform.
The Snapdragon 429, on the other hand, supports display resolution up to HD+, single rear camera of 16-megapixel resolution or dual cameras each of 8-megapixel resolution. It features a quad-core CPU, with four Cortex A53 cores, where all four are performance cores clocked at 1.95GHz, with Qualcomm calming to offer up to 25 percent performance improvement.
For graphics rendering, the chipset comes with Adreno 504 GPU, and is designed to offer 50 performance percent improvement over the Snapdragon 425 SoC. Both the Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 also feature X6 LTE model for fast downloads and smooth video streaming.
Smartphones running on the new Snapdragon 632, Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 SoC are expected to launch in the second half of 2018.
