“One nation, free roaming” was announced earlier this year by the government as a part of its National Telecom Policy 2012.
The policy was approved in May to abolish roaming charges so that mobile phone subscribers can use the same mobile number throughout the country without having to pay extra charges for usage outside their telecom circle.
