As OnePlus gears up to launch its second flagship next week, co-founder Carl Pei gave some insight on how the OnePlus did. OnePlus first flagship was first unveiled in April last year, but only went on sale in June. In about a year, the company has sold 1.5 million smartphones. The Chinese company sold its smartphones in 35 countries across the world, including India, where it launched last year. The smartphone was initially available via an infamous invite system, which has since been phased out. In India, the OnePlus One is available via Amazon India, priced at Rs 18,998 for the 16GB variant, and Rs 21,998 for the 64GB variant.
As mentioned above, OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of its new flagship next week the OnePlus 2. On July 28 (IST), the company will be conducting a virtual reality event to unveil its next flagship. The VR headset (check out our first impressions) for the event was sold out on Amazon India in a matter of hours.
The company has already revealed that the OnePlus 2 will be powered by an improved version of the Snapdragon 810 processor, which has reportedly overcome the heating issues. It will also feature 4GB of RAM, an USB Type C port, a physical home button with a fingerprint sensor, a 3,300mAh battery, with faster LTE connectivity, and dual-SIM card slots.
As far as rumors are concerned, the OnePlus 2 is likely to sport a slimmer full-metal body, 5.5-inch full HD display, a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
As for pricing, the company has revealed that the OnePlus 2 will cost somewhere between $320 and $450. OnePlus will also be introducing a new invite system that is easier to get, due to a relatively larger inventory they are preparing ahead of the launch.
