Apple is holding an iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus launch event on September 9, where it is also expected to unveil the much-rumored next-gen Apple TV. We earlier learnt that the new Apple TV could cost twice as its predecessor. Now the folks at 9To5Mac have revealed some more details about the forthcoming device.

The new Apple TV is set to bring significant upgrades in the form of new software based on iOS 9, a faster processor, an upgraded remote control and a cool new user interface. The publication cites sources claiming that the fourth-generation Apple TV is all set to get into gaming by supporting Bluetooth game controllers.

With support for gaming, it will be Apple’s biggest effort to attract gamers from traditional gaming consoles. Besides offering convenience of downloading games from the built-in App Store, Apple TV will also support joysticks, basic motion control and pressure-sensitive buttons, the report says. These controllers are expected to be made by other companies and not Apple.

The next-gen Apple TV is expected to arrive sometime in October with a hefty price tag between $149 – $200 (approximately between Rs 9,500 to Rs 12,500), compared to the current model that sells for $69 (approximately Rs 4,550). It expected to come with a host of new features, such as support for Siri, an App Store with SDK (Software Development Kit) for developers and a new remote control.

With the event set to take place next week, we will come to know exactly what Apple has in store for its customers.
