Motorola recently launched the Moto G (2015), Moto X Play and the Moto X Style at its event, but there was no word about much-anticipated smartwatch. While everyone is waiting for the next-gen Moto 360, it s reportedly been spotted in Chicago, near Motorola Headquarters. Spotted by Google+ user Gerrit G decke and Reddit user ThatGuyWhoRuinedIt, both have posted photos of the luxurious looking smartwatch that appears to be the next-gen Motorola smartwatch running on Android Wear OS. The smartwatch looks similar to the predecessor and includes that ‘flat tire’ for the screen (ambient light sensor at the bottom). There are two small changes though; the button on the right edge is moved slightly upwards compared to the previous smartwatch.
The second change is the traditional watch design with easily swappable standard style lugs. While both leaked images show the luxurious gold color variant of the smartwatch, one sports an all-black leather strap whereas other one has a Cognac band.
This is not the first time we ve heard about the Moto 360 successor. Some earlier reports suggested that the next-gen Motorola smartwatch would come in two sizes. That s not all; a couple of weeks ago, Motorola had accidently teased a video of its upcoming smartwatch on Twitter before quickly deleting it.
In terms of specifications, we re not sure what to expect, but some reports point to a 270mAh and 300mAh battery for the two sizes. The Moto 360 was launched last year in September at the IFA and with this year s event coming closer, it might be the right time for Motorola to celebrate one-year anniversary while announcing the most anticipated next-gen smartwatch.
