It’s been just over a month that the Honor 7 was unveiled in China. Now it seems the company is close to launching yet another smartphone, with a rather interesting and unique feature.
An Honor smartphone with model number ATH-AL00 was spotted on China’s TENAA, GizChina reports. While not a lot is known about the handset in terms of its specifications and features, the photos reveal an interesting feature. The forthcoming Honor smartphone reportedly features a sliding camera.
The two cameras on the smartphone will be placed on the same sliding assembly. While you can normally click photos from the rear camera, to click a selfie you will have to slide the camera upwards. Thankfully rather than having to manually pulling out the camera, there is a dedicated physical button on the right side.
It may seem like a pointless innovation, but there are a couple of advantages to this feature. For one, the bezels at the top of the screen are slimmer, and the company is also able to add dual-LED flash to the rear, as well as the front camera.
As mentioned above, there are no details available at the moment. No word on any launch timeframe either.
