Nextbit has also released a Robin factory image for 7.1.1 on Razer Insider. If you are going to flash your device using the provided image, be sure to backup your device data, as the update might wipe your data and bring the handset to a stock state. It is equally important to back up any important data such as photos, contacts, and messages. In order to run the update, users need to first ensure that their smartphone is fully charged. This update is rolling out over-the-air, and, if you receive an update notification, just tap on Yes, I m in -> Install now. The update can take a couple of days to reach all the units, however, if you don t receive a notification or can t wait for it, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings -> About phone -> System updates -> Yes, I m in -> Install now.
The update comes with a host of improvements and features, which include new circular icons for the launcher and long press app shortcut menu. Other features include multi-window app support, power-saving Doze feature, background system updates, and instant apps which allow users to begin using or testing an app right from the Play Store without having to download it first. The update further helps users save battery and consume less memory when the screen is turned off. Google has also tweaked the notifications panel with reply via notification feature, which will let you reply to text messages without having to open the app. ALOS READ: How to get Android 7.1.2 Nougat Beta on your Google Pixel, Pixel XL and Nexus devices
