Nextbit has finally debuted in India with its much-hyped cloud smartphone Robin. Priced at Rs 19,999, the smartphone will be available on Flipkart from May 30 onwards, with pre-registrations kicking off today. The key feature of the Nextbit Robin is its Smart Storage feature that automatically backs up content including apps when the device’s internal storage runs out. Smart Storage adds up 100GB on top of the 32GB internal storage on the Robin smartphone. Also Read - Razer phone with dual cameras, 8GB RAM listed online ahead of November 1 launch
The Smart Storage feature automatically backs up apps and photos, and archives the content you are not using regularly. It also lets you restore them by just tapping on the archived data. Nextbit allows you to pin apps that you don’t want to be archived. It is worth pointing out that the smartphone doesn’t archive Google and system apps. Another unique highlight of the smartphone is its design, which is rectangular shaped. It is similar to the Lumia smartphones, but with much sharper edges. The smartphone has a plastic body though. The form factor is quite rare considering that modern smartphones come with metal body and with much more curves and compact size.
Nextbit Robin specifications and features: The smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display. It runs Android Marshmallow and is powered by Snapdragon 808 along with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB built-in storage (24GB user available).
For photography, the Robin comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-FI and GPS. The smartphone supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and USB Type C for fast charging.
The Nextbit Robin also comes with fingerprint scanner, which is located on the right edge of the smartphone just like the Sony Xperia Z5.
