Out of the three, the Nikon 1 AW1 is a 14.2-megapixel camera, which is waterproof up to a depth of 15 meters. It is made with all-terrain capabilities and can withstand falls from up to 2 meters. Additionally, it is freeze proof up to -10 degrees. The device has also received the iF Product Design Award 2014. The company positions the Nikon 1 V3 as lightweight camera for on-the-go photography. It is an 18.4-megapixel camera and the first to be equipped with a vari-angle LCD monitor that enables flexible shooting from any angle. It has built-in Wi-Fi, high-speed AF CMOS sensor with no low-pass filter and the new EXPEED 4A image-processing engine. The Nikon 1 J4 also houses an 18.4-megapixel camera with built-in Wi-Fi and is also highlighted for its small size and light-weightiness. Even this has super high-speed AF CMOS sensor with no low-pass filter, and the latest EXPEED 4A image-processing engine. Additionally, it has 3-inch LCD touch screen and records HD movies at 1920 x 1080/60p.
Apart from the cameras, Nikon has also launched dedicated accessories like the WP-N3 waterproof case, and the full-scale underwater SB-N10 speedlight. Nikon is also releasing the new 1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM normal zoom lens compatible with the CX format and covering the 10-30mm range of focal lengths. The company claims that this is the world’s lightest interchangeable lens, and is equipped with a power-drive zoom function.
